Letter from the President/CEO 7/6/2021

We are happy to report our County pandemic metrics remain at good levels and no new restrictions have been applied. We do strongly recommend practicing good infection control measures when at gatherings or in public including physical distancing and frequent hand hygiene. Even if you are vaccinated, these measure will help keep you from getting more "routine” illnesses as well. I am following up with our trade organization, LeadingAge Kansas, to work with KDADS to clear up some hold-over restrictions that were actually lifted by the CDC and CMS. These include the ability to see multiple residents in one visit when everyone involved is vaccinated and having a meal with a resident when all parties are vaccinated.  It is unclear to me as to why KDADS retained these restrictions and I am hoping it is just an oversight and will be easily remedied.

Unrelated to the pandemic is Lacey Depenbusch, our VP of Public Relations, is leaving the Hutch area to be closer to family and friends soon. I am interviewing candidates for her position and hope to have someone in place quickly. Kathy Rusk, our long-time Financial Coordinator, retired recently and Ronde Asay has assumed her duties. We wish Lacey and Kathy well in their new endeavors!

Thank you,

Mark Mains
