Our county COVID numbers seemed to have leveled
off over the past 10 days, which is encouraging. We do need to make you aware
of a recent update in travel restrictions that may be relevant to many Kansans. Several counties in Colorado has been added as a travel-restricted area. We’re told by a contact
in Denver the restrictions are likely due to a new COVID variant credited to
India being present now in Denver. We have not confirmed this as the cause of
the new restrictions, though we have confirmed the travel restriction for
Colorado via the KDHE website. If you plan to travel to Colorado or have
visitors contemplating a trip to Kansas, please read the information regarding
travel-based quarantines at the KDHE or CDC website. Travel restrictions apply
to anyone who is not fully vaccinated or is exhibiting any symptoms of the
viral agent. The situation in India and the fear of the variants causing havoc
again in the US remind us this pandemic is far from over.
Please do all you can to stay safe and healthy!
