United We Can Make A Difference

For over 10 years, Wesley Towers has stepped up to help fundraise for the United Way of Reno County. Annually Wesley Towers runs a campaign for pledges that help support the twenty-six local not-for-profit partner agencies with the United Way of Reno County. This year, Wesley Towers was selected to take on the challenge of being a Pacesetter to "jump start" the annual campaign. Our goal was to raise $17,500, but by the end of the campaign we had raised $20,221.32!! We had tremendous support from all, receiving many new pledges from staff members, residents and the board of directors.

"You truly are the most amazing community partner," says Lisa Gleason, United Way of Reno County Executive Director and Wesley Towers, Inc. Board of Trustee. "I cannot thank you enough for ALL that you do for us. You are making such a difference!!"

Throughout the month of August, Wesley Towers held various activities to raise funds. A staff favorite is the carnival where staff had the opportunity to play games to win tickets for great door prizes in addition to enjoying carnival food and pizza. Also, new to our campaign this year, Wesley Towers hosted a community-wide event for Throwback Thursday: take me back to the 1950's where we served classic burger baskets with fries and old-fashioned sodas.

"I’m glad I made the move to Wesley Towers as I knew it wasn’t safe to live at home anymore. The staff is nice, I like my neighbors and everyone I meet is nice. The nurses are great and the maintenance department was so helpful in getting my apartment exactly how I wanted it when moving here. I enjoy living at Wesley Towers."
