Wesley Towers welcomes our new occupational therapist to Therapy and Recovery at Wesley Towers.
Nicole Sampson, OTR and certified lymphedema therapist, joined the therapy staff at Wesley Towers last August, and has been working wonders with residents. "I have been an occupational therapist for six and a half years," she says. I have extensive experience with orthopedic injuries; hand, wrist, and elbow rehabilitation; as well as experience with neurological injuries. I have experience working with individuals with Parkinson's Disease and take a different approach to therapy by looking at reflexes and how reflexes affect movement with Parkinson's Disease. I am trained in Reflex Integration levels I, II, and III."
A native of Pennsylvania, she came to Kansas after high school for a year of Brethren Volunteer Service. She went to McPherson College and received a bachelor's of science degree in biology and went back to Pennsylvania for a master's degree. She graduated from St. Francis University in 2013 with a masters in occupational therapy and began working in a hospital in Marion, Kansas in 2013 and continued until her family moved to Hutchinson.
Nicole and her husband have two sons, Ryker, age five, and Skyler, age two; as well as two beautiful dogs. As a family, they love spending time outdoors, taking the boys fishing, going on walks and having family adventures.
