Last week, we were able to provide information on new visitation guidance from CMS for Thorne that we also applied to Collier and Hester. We also provided visitation updates for the Towers and Manor buildings. These new guidelines remain in place today, but as with most of the rules associated with the pandemic, are subject to change with very little notice. A rule that was retained in the new guidance is the requirement to temporarily close an area to visitation if a positive test from either a staff member or resident is returned or the county’s positive test rate increases. I reiterate this only to note that although we don’t anticipate having to restrict visitation, it is a very real possibility. We will send updates if anything occurs and we ask that you please monitor our website and Facebook page for updates as well. In particular, if you live out of state, please check for updates before making the trip to Wesley Towers. Late last week, New York and New Jersey were added to the quarantine list by KDHE. Anyone who has traveled to either state is not able to visit Wesley Towers until a two-week quarantine period has passed, with no symptoms of illness, since returning from a designated quarantine state. Now that Kansas has relatively low virus metrics, the list of quarantine states literally may change daily. Please monitor our website for information and here is a link to the KS Department of Health & Environment site - https://www.coronavirus.kdheks.gov/175/Travel-Exposure-Related-Isolation-Quaranfor the most current list of states with this designation. Please remember to check in for screening at the Towers (5-story) front desk before proceeding to your resident’s room or apartment. We are not able to screen visitors at Thorne, Hester, or Collier entrances. Once screened and in the appropriate building, please be sure to go directly to the resident’s room or apartment and when the visit is concluded, proceed directly to the exit.
Please continue to stay safe when out in public.
